"Pensive Young Girl at the Window"

This painting was created for a book cover.

The book, "A Room of My Own", was written by Ann Tatlock.

It is essentially a young girl contemplating the sun's rays streaming in the window.

It is a very simple painting. At first, the viewer will see a girl with brown hair,

in a brown dress, in a brown room. But there are actually hundreds of colors

representing the entire visual spectrum, when you look close at the canvas.

For me, brown is a big step above gray on the dismal list, as it is very warm and cozy.

Brighter colors, as seen outside the window, represent exciting potential.
